The Queensland Public Trustee (QPT) are seeking suppliers who can provide auction and associated services for a range of goods and chattels, collectables, vehicles and other customer assets across Queensland.

QPT wishes to engage suppliers who can provide some or all the following services:

• Selling services for customer’s portable assets across all areas of Queensland

• Provision of secure storage or ability to source secure storage for items until they are sold and/or transported or collected by buyers

• Valuation and/or appraisal services

• Having or being able to access a buyer channel, online presence or buyer network

• Having insurance or the ability to get insurance coverage for goods while in transit or stored

• Internal systems and processes that enable itemised invoices for each individual customer and each item (or lot) showing sale price achieved, cost of sale (advertising, administration etc) and the sale fee or commission applicable to that item.

Portable assets (also called goods and chattels) in scope for this ITO are including but not limited to:

o Mobile homes, caravans, camper vans trucks, machinery and specialised vehicles,

o livestock or agricultural equipment

o e-scooters, electric bikes and wheelchairs

o cars or other motorised vehicles

o smaller recreational marine craft including small craft, sail boards, canoes, kayaks or jet skis

o Coins, stamps, precious metals

o General household items including furniture and whitegoods

o Jewellery, art or collectibles

o Musical instruments

o other items excluding real estate.

Out of scope:

• Auction services for real estate and property.

• Marine auction services for commercial vessels, dredging equipment, ferries, yachts and larger motorised fleet

• All weapons and munitions regardless of whether they are replicas and regardless of whether they can be fired or not.

QPT intend to procure Goods, Chattels and Motorised Vehicle Auction Services to realise value from the sale of QPT Customers portable assets across a variety of categories.

QPT intends to engage suitably qualified suppliers to sell these goods in accordance with the instructed views and wishes of our customers and their stakeholders. We are seeking to create a panel of preferred suppliers through this request and to cover the full services required across the state.

You must have a current licence to work as a Chattel Auctioneer in accordance with the Queensland Motor Dealers and Chattels Auctioneer Act 2014.

You are able to supply some or all of the services requested and be able to perform those services within Queensland in some or all areas.

QPT has issued this ITO with the objectives of:

• Gaining a better understanding of the market which has significantly changed with use of technology and increased service provider specialisation

• Increasing the options for the sale of customer owned goods, chattels and motorised vehicles to maximise the financial return to them.

• Achieving statewide coverage noting that at present we have limited coverage for customers across some regional parts of Queensland

• Removing service inequity for customers who live in rural and remote locations
