Background information / Compatibility requirements
Details
Transport and Main Roads (TMR), Metropolitan Region, is piloting a new approach to constructability input through an early market engagement - Expression of Interest (EOI) for Bruce Highway, Gateway Motorway to Dohles Rocks Road (Stage 2). TMR is undertaking trials of this type of early engagement as part of exploring new ways to collaborate with industry and strengthen the constructability of our designs.

This initiative follows The Collaborative Project’s recent 360-degree risk consultation with industry, which highlighted the benefits of involving contractors earlier in the design process to improve risk allocation, reduce assumptions, and support better project outcomes.

As part of this pilot, there will be an opportunity for participating contractors to provide feedback on this trial engagement process itself, helping shape how TMR may implement similar approaches in future projects.

This is a non-binding, pre-procurement engagement. By Participating in this early engagement process participants acknowledge and agree that it does not provide any commercial or competitive advantage in any future procurement. All contractors who submit an EOI, regardless of whether they are shortlisted for this engagement, will be eligible to participate in the future construction tender for this project. Feedback gathered during this process will be de-identified and made available to all prospective tenderers to ensure a fair and transparent procurement process.

Suitably prequalified suppliers to levels R5 (Road), B4 (Bridge), F150+ (financial) or higher are invited to submit an EOI.
