Paterson House Verandah Refurbishment

Rockhampton Girls Grammar School (RGGS) is recognised as a place of State heritage significance, listed on the Queensland Heritage Register (QHR 600780). Within the heritage boundary, Paterson House—constructed in the 1890s—is the primary heritage building on campus and a prominent feature of the school’s historic character.

The upcoming refurbishment of the Paterson House verandahs aims to ensure their structural integrity and restore the verandahs to their original state, in keeping with the building’s heritage values and conservation requirements.

Constructed in the 1970s, the Art Classroom has long served as a vibrant creative hub for students from Prep to Year 12. With its elevated position overlooking the Rockhampton skyline, the space provides an inspiring setting for artistic exploration and cultural expression.

Grant Art Classroom Refurbishment

The proposed refurbishment will transform the classroom into a modern, innovative learning environment that supports contemporary art education practices. The project will enhance functionality, improve supervision and safety, and ensure the space meets the needs of 21st-century learners while preserving its unique character and views.
