Question
:
To assist in preparing a compliant and competitive submission, could you please advise:
The minimum warranty term and roadside assistance period Council expects for these vehicles.
Whether there are any preferred brands or existing fleet standards that will influence the evaluation.
Whether Council requires new vehicles only and, if not, what odometer range would be acceptable for late-model vehicles.
What specific training requirements apply for operators and maintenance staff (including format, duration and any documentation to be provided).
What expectations Council has regarding spare parts availability and support (including preferred timeframes for critical parts).
Whether both vehicles are required to be of the same make and model, or if mixed brands/models will be considered.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your queries, please see below responses:
1) The minimum warranty term and roadside assistance period Council expects for these vehicles. Council does not have a minimum period for warranty. Higher warranty periods will be looked on more favorably during the assessment. Council does not have any requirements for roadside assistance as we already have our own roadside assistance provisions in place.
2) Whether there are any preferred brands or existing fleet standards that will influence the evaluation. No – Brands however need to be established and reputable in Australia with an established parts supply network.
3) Whether Council requires new vehicles only and, if not, what odometer range would be acceptable for late model vehicles. New vehicles only.
4) What specific training requirements apply for operators and maintenance staff (including format, duration and any documentation to be provided). The dealer is required to ensure that operators are appropriately inducted to operate the vehicle. For most cars this typically is a 15-30 minute handover where staff are made aware of nuances specific to that vehicle (ie switches, unique functions of the vehicle)
5) What expectations Council has regarding spare parts availability and support (including preferred timeframes for critical parts). All critical parts should be available in Australia and should be available for immediate dispatch (ie given to courier/post within 1 business day of request).
6) Whether both vehicles are required to be of the same make and model, or if mixed brands/models will be considered. The brands/models can be mixed.
Kind regards
CGRC
