Cessnock City Council Local government has been in operation in the Cessnock area since 1906 when the Shire of Cessnock held its first meeting.

During the following years there were several amalgamations and splits as new Shires were formed and reshaped until Cessnock was declared a City in 1958.

Records created or received by a service provider relating to the performance of a contract are considered State Records under the State Records Act 1998 (NSW). Service providers must make and keep records of all matters relating to the performance of the contract including but not limited to records of inspections, testing and compliance, records of accounts, timesheets and reports produced. Council retains an immediate right of access to all records to assess compliance with the requirements of the contract and meet other legal obligations. The purpose being for the assessment (in accordance with the Local Government Regulations). The information will be stored at Council’s Administration Centre in accordance with the requirements of the State Records Act 1998 and will comply with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1988 (NSW) (the PPIP Act) and Council's Privacy Management Plan.

Purpose:

Replacement/Construction of Wyndham Street Bridge, Greta.

Cessnock City Council (CCC) is proposing to engage an experienced contractor for Construction only Contract to carry out the replacement / construction of Wyndham Street Bridge, Greta within the Cessnock LGA. The primary objective of this project is to replace the existing timber bridge with a modern structure while maintaining its local heritage perspective due to its location in Greta Conservation Area.

Any person/company willing to fulfil the requirements of the proposed contract are invited to submit a tender to the Council by the deadline, 2.00 pm on Tuesday 29 September, 2026 by one of the methods detailed in the Conditions of Tendering.

A tenderer must not submit a tender without a firm intention to proceed. Responsibility for lodgement of completed tender documents by the deadline lies solely with the Tenderer. Council is not bound to accept the lowest tender or any tender submitted.
