Question
:
Are Council considering one contractor for both waste streams, or can we put in a bid for concrete waste processing only?
Answered on 04/Jun/2025 09:05 AM
:
You are able to bid seperately

Question
:
Could Council please confirm or provide clarification on the following:
1. Is Council seeking on-site processing of green waste, or the removal and processing of materials at the Contractor’s facility? There appears to be conflicting information within the documentation.
2. Is the green waste self-haul / PDO materials?
3. Can Council provide indicative or expected tonnages?
4. Is there a proposed contract term?
5. Could Council please provide a copy of the SMRC Modern Slavery questionnaire?
Thank you
Answered on 04/Jun/2025 12:47 PM
:
Council is currently seeking on-site processing. If any changes are required during the contract term, a contract variation will be sought.
Green waste received at all facilities is self-haul/Public Drop-Off (PDO), including both domestic and commercial loads. There is potential for a contract variation to include the shredding of FOGO material, which may assist in accelerating compost production.
The accumulated annual tonnage is approximately 2,550 tonnes. This figure may fluctuate due to environmental, emergency, or climatic conditions across the region. Quantities also vary by site, with landfills typically receiving higher volumes than regional transfer stations. This total excludes any FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) material.
The contract term will be two (2) years, with an option to extend for an additional one (1) year.
A copy of the SMRC Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy has been included as an addendum to the EOI.

Question
:
Hi,
Can we ask the following questions please:
1) What is the source of the organic material?
2) What is the source of the concrete material?
3) What is the collection process for the organic material? Side-loader, hook lift?
4) What is the collection process for the material material?
5) Is there space at the council locations to stockpile and shred/crush the materials? Which locations?
6) Is the proponent responsible for disposal of the shredded/crushed materials?
Thanks
Answered on 04/Jun/2025 09:10 AM
:
The Expression of Interest (EOI) is for the end processing of stockpiled, delivered material only. It does not include collection. The material will be located at the sites specified in the EOI, with concrete waste stockpiled exclusively at the three main landfill sites.
