Clarence City Council (or City of Clarence) is a local government body in Tasmania, and one of the five municipalities that constitutes the Greater Hobart Area. The Clarence local government area has a population of 56,945, covering the eastern shore of the Derwent River from Otago to the South Arm Peninsula and the smaller localities of Cambridge, Richmond, and Seven Mile Beach.

The administrative centre and main commercial district of Clarence is Rosny Park, approximately 5 kilometres from the CBD of Hobart. Bellerive Oval lies immediately to the south, and the Hobart International Airport is located further north-west along the Tasman Highway.

Council invites Tenders to undertake works as specified in these Tender Documents for the following works at the Rosny Tennis Club, 18 Bastick Street, Rosny

Rosny Tennis Club, Retaining Wall repairs

- Supply of all materials and consumables for retaining wall repairs

- Supply of portable toilet and amenities for the duration of all works

- Retaining wall repairs as per design drawings

- Reinstating the Bessa brick wall and returfing

- Removal and appropriate disposal of all waste materials, including spoil

Rosny Tennis Club, Courts 1&2 Fencing upgrade

- Supply of all materials and consumables for fencing and footings

- Remove of the existing Courts 1&2 fencing

- Install footings as per the JMG footing plan

- Install court drainage and connect to existing system

- Install new black chain link fencing as per AS1725.2

- Removal and appropriate disposal of all waste materials

All works shall comply with Safe Work Australia Code of Practice – Excavation work, AS1725.2 Tennis Court Fencing- Commercial, referenced standards and best practice.

Full details are provided in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of the specimen copy of the Contract appearing in Part 4 of this Invitation. Tenderers are to contact Council’s nominated contact officer named on the cover page if additional information is required to submit the Tender.

The Rosny Tennis Club courts were constructed over 30 years ago and the retaining wall along the western side of the courts is cracked and bowed in some areas. The retaining wall requires repairs to restore site safety ahead of a future site upgrade. The perimeter fencing around Courts 1 and 2 is also in poor condition and will be replaced. Council is also progressing a separate tender to resurface Courts 1 and 2. The resurfacing will commence after the retaining wall and perimeter fencing works are complete. All site works must be completed prior to 30 Nov 2026.

PRE-TENDER SITE MEETING

For clarification of the Works, a pre-Tender site meeting is scheduled for 11am on Thursday 17 September on-site. This meeting will convene at the Rosny Tennis Club house at 18 Bastick Street, Rosny. Attendance at this meeting is not mandatory; however, this will be the only opportunity to physically explore the site with the Superintendent in attendance.

Those intending to attend this meeting are requested to inform the contact person nominated on the front cover of this Tender Document prior to the meeting.
