The Southern Downs Regional Council was formed on the 15th of March 2008 as an outcome of the Queensland Local Government Reform process. This new governing body encompasses the areas previously occupied by the Warwick and Stanthorpe Shire Councils.

Dear Valued Suppliers

Southern Downs Regional Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers to establish a Register of Pre-Qualified Supplier Arrangement (ROPS) with suitably qualified and experienced contractors to provide general trade and associated services in the areas of planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and capital work as described in more detail in document package.

To ensure that Council is meeting the requirements of the Local Government Regulations 2012 and is providing the required level of service to our community, Council is establishing a register of prequalified suppliers for numerous separate trade services.

This will allow Council to access suitable suppliers for these Trades and Technical Services in an efficient and effective manner.

The services provided by the Register of Suppliers will be utilised, at a minimum, in planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and capital works on specified sites.

This contract incorporates different trades, associated skills and necessary qualifications and or licences and Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) Licences required from the prequalified Suppliers as listed in “Attachment A – Licence Classes." This may be amended from time to time to comply with statutory amendments. Where a qualification or licence is repealed and replaced, the replacement qualification will be imported in place of the repealed qualification/licence.
