Good Afternoon,

Council will provide the successful consultant with the existing coastal hazard information and other relevant data held by Council, including the documents listed in the RFQ and available historical shoreline monitoring, aerial photography, LiDAR and GIS datasets.

Consultants are not expected to reproduce the existing technical investigations for the Cremorne section of Pipe Clay Lagoon but must review their currency, limitations and applicability to the study area. However, the RFQ requires a contemporary coastal processes and coastal hazard assessment for Cremorne Beach, including updated hazard mapping for the agreed planning horizons. This is a distinct work package and must be separately itemised in the fee proposal. Any additional data requirements or proposed primary investigations should be clearly identified in the respondent’s methodology and pricing.

Community engagement is expected to occur at a minimum of two meaningful stages, with the timing, purpose and format to be confirmed through the Community Engagement Plan prepared at project commencement.

The consultant’s scope includes identifying key stakeholders and land managers; engagement with relevant Tasmanian Aboriginal organisations and representatives in consultation with Council; community workshop(s); preparation of engagement, exhibition and online materials; analysis and reporting on consultant-led activities; and support during public exhibition, including attendance at up to two public information sessions. Council will lead its own engagement activities, including the Your Say survey, and will analyse and report on those activities. Detailed roles and responsibilities will be agreed during project initiation. The scope also includes two internal workshops with Council staff and/or Councillors. Any additional internal workshops will be undertaken on an as-needs basis through an agreed variation.

Council is unable to disclose the budget for this project. Respondents should propose a methodology and fee that they consider appropriate to meet the requirements of the RFQ, including the separately itemised work packages set out in the Pricing Schedule.
