Details
Hinchinbrook Shire Council (Council) invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the
reconstruction of the existing road pavement on Menzies Street, Ingham, between Chainages 170m and 260m. The
project forms part of Council's 2026/27 Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) capital works program and
aims to improve the structural integrity, serviceability and long-term performance of this section of roadway.
The works comprise the full reconstruction of the pavement structure, including earthworks, geotechnical treatment,
pavement construction, sprayed bituminous surfacing, line marking, traffic management and all associated activities
necessary to achieve practical completion. The reconstructed pavement shall be delivered in accordance with the design
drawings, specifications and contract requirements provided as part of this Request for Tender.
Tenderers are expected to demonstrate experience in the delivery of similar road rehabilitation and reconstruction projects
and shall provide all labour, plant, equipment, materials, supervision, testing and quality assurance necessary to complete
the works. The successful Contractor will be responsible for implementing appropriate safety, environmental and traffic
management controls throughout the duration of the contract and for maintaining access to adjacent properties and road
users where required.
The works are to be undertaken in accordance with all relevant Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads
(TMR) specifications, applicable legislation, Australian Standards and Council requirements. Tenderers should familiarise
themselves with the site conditions, project constraints, and the information contained within the accompanying drawings
and scope documents before submitting a Tender.
The principal objective of this procurement process is to engage a contractor capable of delivering a safe, durable and
cost-effective pavement reconstruction project within the required timeframe while minimising disruption to the
surrounding community and road network.
