Response to Question 1

Timelines for the project are as outlined in Part Three – Specification. Please see below. Relevant text is shown in CAPITAL LETTERS.

Bin Supply

Post MBG production, as part of this tender Council is requesting the transport of the ordered bins to Castlemaine. Alternate locations within a 40-kilometre radius of Castlemaine may also be considered. The conditions and parameters for delivery are outlined below:

A sample is to be provided for approval prior to production of order for Council Approval / Sign Off

Schedule and deliver the MGB’s no earlier than 1 February 2026 and no later than 30 May 2026 Please note - ALTERNATE DELIVERY DATES OUTSIDE THIS RANGE MAY BE CONSIDERED. DELIVERY DATES ARE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RESPONSE. PLEASE REFER TO 4.1.3.

MGB Delivery Parameters

Should a successful tender be awarded both supply and delivery to households, MGB SUPPLY (DELIVERY) TIMES FRAMES AS DETAILED IN ITEM 4.12 MAY BE ADJUSTED TO ACCOMMODATE KERBSIDE ROLLOUT AND TO AVOID UNNECESSARY STORAGE.

Response to Question 2 - Does the Supplier need to arrange warehouse storage for bins?

Please see 4.1.2 of the Specification – “MGB’s are to be delivered to a single or multiple addresses in Castlemaine. ALTERNATE LOCATIONS WITHIN A 40-KILOMETRE RADIUS OF CASTLEMAINE MAY ALSO BE CONSIDERED FOR STORAGE. THE SUCCESSFUL CONTRACTOR WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE NOMINATED ADDRESS / FACILITY DETAILS PRIOR TO DELIVERY. Council welcomes any proposals regarding warehouse storage arranged by the Contractor if required to store bins.

Response to Question 3: Can you provide a Map of the Shire, with information about specific bin collection days?

Bin collection days will most probably be adjusted to some extent in early 2027 to accommodate the need for the collection contractor to empty an extra two waste streams (FOGO and glass) in addition to the current collections of general waste and mixed recycling). An up-to-date map, tenement list and other detailed information will be provided to the successful contractor.

A map will be issued as an addendum and Council's "Find Your Bin Day" tool on our website will provide an indicative understanding of bin collection days and location of tenements.
